The Vinyl Froniter
A lively, and heart stirring performance - dance, laugh, and bring tears to your eyes. You'll love The Vinyl Frontier, the official house band of the Annual Ottawa Opry!!
Bringing to life the sounds of the 1950's – 1960's country pop is Pat Moore's band The Vinyl Frontier, featuring Al Bragg, a well known inductee of the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame who toured with Carol Baker, The Family Brown, and several other bands. Nominated on more than one occasion as CCMA Steel Guitar Player of the year, Al has also earned a Juno nomination. In the Vinyl Frontier, Al will take you back to the early days of country pop on the Pedal Steel Guitar, Piano, and his bass vocal – a playful dimension to the band's sound. On acoustic and electric guitars, Pat McLaughlin is always delighting the audience with his skill and tasty licks. Pat adds much of the vocal harmony to the music as well, bringing a warm full sound to the country duets, trios, and quartets. He has become very much in demand by roots musicians throughout the region for live performances and recording. He and Al Bragg are now both part of the Legend of Gram Parsons Road Show with Anders Drerup and Kelly Prescott. On upright bass and vocal harmony is Ann Downey, who brings a great Texas swing to the sound. Ann also plays with The Toasted Westerns, Sneezy Waters, and the acclaimed trio Finest Kind. Her bass solos are a crowd pleaser! On drums…the steady, talented and terrifically fun Alistair Dennett who has earned a reputation of being one of the finest drummers you will find. Alistair was the original drummer for Prarie Oyster, plays with Ball and Chain, Keith Glass, and... we're so glad he's playing with us!
